Tui Na
Tui Na a is a hands-on-body treatment using various hand techniques combined with elements of acupressure. Tuina is a modality of Chinese Medicine that produces extremely quick results and brings the body’s energy and blood flow back into balance.
Tui Na is one of the four main branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The other three being Acupuncture, Herbal Medical and Qi Gong.
It is a powerful extension of traditional western massage methods. Through the application of Massage, Manipulation and Acupressure techniques Tui Na seeks to establish a more Harmonious flow of Qi through the meridians (energy channels that run through the body), allowing the body to naturally heal itself. Tui Na works in a similar way to Acupuncture except without the needles.
In a typical session, a detailed consultation is taken first. The practictioner may ask to see your tongue and feel your pulse to assist their diagnosis. The client then, wearing loose clothing and no shoes lies on the massage table. The practitioner may rub, knead, roll, press and pat areas of concern around the body; including between each of the joints to open the body’s defensive system and get the energy moving in both the meridians and the muscles. The practitioner can then use range of motion, traction, massage, with the stimulation of acupressure points and to treat both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as many other conditions such as digestive complaints, migraines and arthritic pain.
The client usually feels relaxed but energized by the treatment..
Tui Na is particularly effective in treating the following; Stress, Anxiety, Insomnia, Headaches Acute and Chronic Pain, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Allergies and Sinusitis, Menstrual Disorders, Depression and Fatigue and more…
